Always Go

I titled this blog entry "Always Go" because I almost didn't. Got a call late last week from the family of a 101st Airborne veteran, who said they had a couple of daggers and some patches that their father had brought back from the war. Although I had a busy schedule this week, I made time to stop by for a few minutes yesterday because they lived only an hour away and I was going to be in their area. Well, a few minutes became a few hours. Met a wonderful family, and bought their father's war booty: a hoard of mint condition daggers that had been carefully preserved by him since war's end. They gave me photographs, a copy of his DD214, a bag of medals and insignia (not pictured), and his named M42 Paratrooper jacket. They even included a photo of him wearing the jacket during the war! Overall, a good day.
