Rights to burial in original Elvis tomb being auctioned

Like last week's aborted auction of a vial of President Ronald Reagan's blood taken after a 1981 assassination attempt, this newest auction offer verges on the macabre, and perhaps the kinda kooky. It's also perfect for the absolute most dedicated fan of Elvis Presley.

"It" is the right to be buried in the King's original tomb, the Forest Hill mausoleum in Memphis, Tenn., where Elvis was buried alongside his mother for two months after his sudden 1977 death, before both he and his mother were interred at Elvis' iconic Graceland estate. The mausoleum has been empty since.

According to TheWrap.com, a Beverly Hills auctioneer is offering the opportunity to buy the rights to an opening and closing of the mausoleum, a memorial service and an inscription for a truly devoted fan. Closer My God (and the King) To Thee, it would seem.
