While most cats are more likely to bury "treasure" in a sandbox or return home
with a mouse, a stray cat's curiosity in Rome led an Italian man to a 2,000 year
old tomb in rock cliffs near his apartment. Mirko Curti and a friend saw the cat
scamper towards an opening in a rock, and upon following the feline inside the
men discovered a rock-like subterranean burial chamber that archaeologists
believed dates to between the 1st century BC and 2nd century AD. And while the
cat can't all the credit, as heavy rains likely caused rocks concealing the
entrance to crumble, it probably deserves some kind of reward.
