It's not in Kansas Anymore

The ironic blue gingham dress that Judy Garland wore in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz is going up for auction, and the price could go somewhere over the rainbow. While the Icons and Idols 2012: Hollywood auction to be held this weekend will feature more than 800 items of screen worn wardrobes, props and, original photographs and other celebrity owned items, it is Dorothy’s dress – the only one actually used in the film – that could be the ultimate blow out with an expected auction price of half a million dollars.  My opinion is that it'll go higher.  While not THE most iconic item of the film (I'd say the Ruby slippers take that prize), everybody could probably complete the sentence "this is the dress worn in the movie ..."  Stay tuned!
