Sixteen million for a car? Well, not just any car. This 1957 Ferrari Testarossa sold at a California auction Saturday for $16.4 million. That’s the highest amount ever paid for any car at an auction. This got my mind wandering (or wondering). If you wanted to buy 5500 aritfacts salvaged from Titanic this month at an
upcoming auction, you might be able to pay your bill with 10 of these cars (if they existed). Personally,
although this car would turn heads at the valet parking stand, I’d
rather own the Titanic stuff. There IS a catch, however. All of the
Titanic stuff has to be sold in one lot. So if you had your eye on that
life vest or the Titanic baker's hat, you have to buy everything.
